So maybe I'm not at a good stage in life for consistency. I started a book blog, and was super excited about it! Then somehow, life happened...and the holidays happened and baby #6 kept growing and doing a lot more than sleeping. And now here we are, in summertime.

We completed our "ocean" unit for my elementary kids. I enjoyed using our old favorite ocean-themed books, along with several newly purchased titles from Usborne during this unit.

I also pulled out our tub of kid-friendly nature magazines and my younger kids cut out fish/ocean/sea themed pictures. Then we pasted all the cut-outs together on a large blue posterboard. I presented the kids with a sticker sheet of glittery fish stickers and they added the stickers, completing their ocean picture. We played ocean themed learning games, and enjoyed some other "extras" for our unit. It's all been tucked away and now I wait for my little boys to grow up a bit, so we can do it all over again!

When the new school year begins, we will be doing Unit 3 from Tapestry of Grace. This unit covers the time period from the ending of the Revolutionary War to around 1900, which includes the Civil War era. I'm looking forward to starting back with history and diving into books, both old and new.
